Held in police storage for over 20 years, a video tape from the year 2000 has been released showing that two of the men responsible for the 9/11 terror attacks attended a party with a man suspected of working for Saudi Arabian intelligence. <br> <br>Hijacker Khalid al-Mindhar can be seen briefly in the video along with Saudi national Omar al-Bayoumi. Mindhar, along with Nawaf al-Hazmi (who was at the party but not shown on video) would hijack Flight 77 that was flown into the Pentagon. <br> <br>The video was part of a treasure trove of evidence seized from a house in Birmingham, UK two weeks after the 9/11 attacks, and led to the arrest of Bayoumi, although the 9/11 Commission would later find ‘no credible evidence’ that he was involved. Later intelligence would suggest that he was a paid operative of Saudi intelligence at the time and had helped the hijackers set themselves up in the US before the attacks. Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko has been reunited with his family after a prisoner swap with the US on Wednesday. Yaroshenko was freed in exchange for former US Marine Trevor Reed, and had been in US custody for 12 years. <br>The swap took place in Turkey, with Yaroshenko arriving in Sochi then finally Moscow, where his wife and daughter were eagerly waiting on the tarmac. <br>Russia had proposed a prisoner swap for Yaroshenko in July 2019, after the pilot was arrested by US special forces in Liberia in 2010, on smuggling charges. The Italian Coast Guard conducted a rescue operation at sea near the coast of Syracuse, after the rescue team responded to a medical emergency call. Russia’s Federal Security Service has released footage of two alleged Russian saboteurs who were planning to attack railway tracks in the country’s Belgorod region.
