Italy’s tax and customs police have made a record seizure after discovering nearly two metric tonnes of cocaine floating in the sea off eastern Sicily, with an estimated market value of over €400 million ($440 million). The drugs were stored in around 70 waterproof packages, containing 1,600 bricks of drugs, tightly sealed and held together by fishing nets, according to a statement from the Guardia di Finanza. Pang Pha, an Asian elephant at the Berlin Zoo, is a picky eater, but it seems she’s an incredibly intelligent one too. While most elephants eat bananas whole, skin included, Pang Pha has more refined tastes, so she studied the zookeepers until she was able to remove a banana peel on her own. She squeezes the top of the banana to break the skin, before squeezing the fruit out and eating it. Russian police have apprehended a suspected drug runner with an unusual accomplice. The suspect, a woman in possession of large amounts of metamfepramone, was accompanied by a cat dressed in full baby gear, including a diaper and a knitted hat. Not just a bizarre fashion statement - the woman was concealing the drugs in the cat’s clothes. <br>According to an Interior Ministry statement, the woman was carrying out a narcotics delivery in the Urals city of Nizhny Tagil, and to avoid suspicion she posed as a new mum taking her (rather odd looking and hairy) baby out for a walk. She was caught red-handed, on account of how her baby was obviously a cat, and now faces up to 15 years behind bars.
