Kathleen Freeman's introduction to show business came very early in life. Her parents were vaudevillians, and she made her debut at age 2 in their act. Later she attended UCLA with intentions of becoming a pianist, but was bitten by the acting bug and never looked back. She gained experience on stage in various stock and repertory companies, and made her film debut in 1948. One of the most memorable character actresses in recent memory, her stocky build, incredibly expressive face and hearty laugh have kept audiences convulsed for decades, playing a variety of neighborhood gossips, busybodies and eccentrics. Memorable as Sister Mary Stigmata ("The Penguin"), Dan Aykroyd's and John Belushi's nemesis, in The Blues Brothers (1980). She was used as a comic foil by Jerry Lewis in many of his films, always to great advantage. She did much television work, playing in everything from The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961) to Gomer Pyle: USMC (1964) to Hogan's Heroes (1965) to Married with Children (1987), where she was the voice of Peg's monstrous but never-seen mother, Al Bundy's nemesis. She was working on Broadway in a production of "The Full Monty" when she died of lung cancer in 2001.

But then again married men might just check out faster because their neural pathways get run down thanks to non stop nagathons. As for the story I've shared it's about a woman that stole six hundred thousand dollars from her husband over the last twenty years. To cover her tracks and why the money wasn't there when he went to look she convinced her own husband that he had Alzheimer's disease. That's got to be one of the most expensive gas lighting lies of all time. Eventually their daughter Elena Marino started sniffing as to where the money was and realized that mom was being bad and stealing her inheritance money. So she reported the thefts and got her own mother charged with first-degree larceny adn third-degree forgery. I guess female own group preference ends when mother and daughter fight over a man's money. Although it's not exactly clear if she's her mother because the article says they got married ten years ago but were together from 1999. So she might have just taken the name along with his money. The police found that the wife let's call her Peggy was depositing her husbands, let's call him Al's pension checks into her own bank account. But it's confusing because it says that the money was deposited into Marino's mother's bank account. That could mean real mother or step mother. The difference between it being a step mom and birth mom in this case is massive. The article later says that Mrs. Marino had an adult daughter. But it makes no mention of a prior marriage. Having now been at War with the public for tow years+ money is scarce because they have wasted it on imaginary viruses and bulshi way's of controlling us? The Australian Censors Board, determines that some movies must only be seen by adults and must not be seen by children. At 10 years old I wanted to see "A Clock Work Orange" at the drive in... Nope - R rated. Today I can say that the movie is fine for the younger people to see.

And at 13 years old me and some other kids saw a bit of a Swedish sex movie, from down the creek bank, that ran between the car park and another drive in movie screen - no big deal.... 2 or 3 minutes of that - "Meh - people fucking = boring".

But we were permitted to see at school, this movie called, "Wake In Fright" - as a class project.... AND it had been determined by the Censors Board, to be suitable for ages 12 and up (not sure on the exact details but it's close enough).

This is really a brilliant movie and it was almost lost forever, except some one had a few tins of it under their bed from 50 years ago...

So it's been rescued, restored and stuck in the national archives.

It's not a fancy made up production - it's really honest and blunt.

There are things in this movie that make it a great movie and there are things in this that make it - not a horror movie in the sense of crime and off the wall shit, but it's just not good living - with the booze and going crazy and the assorted (implied) sexual scenes...

The dysfunction of the crazy family and the crazy society.

With the booze, the religion, the gambling, the gossiping and mind fuck crap of small town / big city life.

A lot of NORMAL things - ARE disturbing.

In a round about kind of way, this is kind of like an Australian version of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.... Kind of.

Losing your shit on an alcohol drug trip.....

And this is real world kind of issues - but the most mentally disturbing movie I ever saw was called "Eraser Head" - and it's a production, like a printed book, it's a manufactured item.

And fuck all ever happened in the movie - but it is the oblique side on issues, that caused a lot of people who saw it to want to go off to a psych hospital for a long holiday. I myself was seriously disturbed by it.

Wake in Fright has some similar elements to it.

I mean they are guys, it's acting, they are following a script, and they are doing it all in front of a film crew, so it's NOT real.... but there are parts that are disturbing non the less.
