I'm guessing a lot of your are terrified that Queen Latifah will be playing officer Murphy in the next Robocop remake. The way that Wokeywood has been going in Commiefornia recently it probably wouldn't surprise any of us. The Robocop franchise never should have been rebooted but they had to go for those nostalgia dollars because they are creatively bankrupt. The first Robocop when I saw that as a kid it was an instant classic and masterpiece. Even the story in the second one where Robocop or Alex Murphy still has feelings for his wife but she rejects him and calls the cops to stop him from stalking her was well done. But in the remake he gets to go home to his wife and kid and still has his old life. The first one was tragic because he loses his family and it has a much deeper emotional impact because he can't remember who he is. Only bits and pieces. It plays on the the idea of what makes up the human soul. Is it memories or is it something else. Paul Verhoven the director brings up the same themes in Total Recall as well. Unlike the mess of a film they made for that reboot. Ironically that reboot was also shot in Toronto. They film the new woke star trek discovery here too. It's cheaper than making it in America and if they go cheap on the budget you can sure bet they probably go cheap on the scriptwriters as well. In the 1987 Robocop his strong empowered female partner works perfectly in the film. There were strong females in Total Recall as well. But in the 2014 Robocop remake Murphy's partner is male. Plus Detroit is only three to four hours away from Toronto. What I would have done is filmed outdoor chase scenes in Detroit and then used CGI to insert new buildings and fill in all the land with missing houses. Make Detroit look prosperous again. But Toronto is generic enough to fill in for most US cities. I've heard these same types of responses from women enough times that I'm starting to ghost them. Whenever I tell women I'm not dating anymore and am happy being single for the rest of my life they use that same you hate women excuse. I just wish they would try using something creative for a change so that I wasn't bored by their responses anymore. Dad ground it out in the oil & gas industry. 45+ years he worked to feed our family, rising from mailboy to chief chemist. Mom was cool in her Mom years. Sounds like your mother was lucky to have your grandmother there to straighten her out and make sure she didn't ruin her life and probably yours if you were born to some criminal that abandoned you and your mother. The sad truth is that most women today wouldn't do anything to help their daughters like that. Certainly not move two times out of state to prevent her from marrying into the mob. Looks like your mother eventually sobered up and found a compromise with your mother that she was going to find a tough guy but he would have a heart of gold instead of trying to steal gold. Also what's with the name you used? It kind of reminds me of RJ Fletcher from that now ancient film with Weird Al Yankovic called UHF. Well your father doesn't sound like a simp to me but to your mother he probably was compared to all of the men she was with before him. Your mother clearly wasn't a long term thinker and was instead letting the tingles in her vajayjay do the thinking for her instead. She could have snagged herself a doctor in the dorm room at college instead passing him off to her roommate. That was the strategy women used to use thirty or forty years ago. Running off to college and meeting men before they became successful. They would identify their potential and then gamble on his success. Of course guys had no idea they were being sized up for the size of their earnings potential at such a young age. But your mother wasn't interested in that. She was probably more turned on by guys that looked and acted like Ray Liota in Goodfellas. That college dating strategy hasn't worked in a very long time. Soon there probably won't be many men left in college to meet. Women making up two thirds of college students and they make up the majority of students in the stem fields if you count those in the medical sciences.
