Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry (The Movie) KEEPER 21 Views • 3 years ago

I actually tried to upload this movie a few days ago but I've been having a lot of trouble. This was actually my fourth attempt uploading this, lol. Enjoy!

As with all of my movies I try to edit it in a way that hides anything that makes it obvious you're watching a game, and the AC games are great in the sense that they allow you to disable most of the HUD, but there are some things you can't display, like the constant mission objectives for example, and also the saving/loading indicators. Those in particular annoy me in this game because the game appears to save every 10-15 seconds, often saving multiple times in the same cutscene for no apparent reason. I really wish developers would get rid of those. People know not to just pull the power cord from our consoles, and even then, you could just put a warning at the beginning of the game. Thankfully most of them I was able to edit out with editing or visual effects, but not all. There were also button prompts in one scene I was unable to cut out, but other than that most of the "game indicators" are gone.

A lot of people have been asking me about the upcoming Assassin's Creed games Unity and Rogue. I can say for certain that I will be doing a Unity movie. However, I'm not currently guaranteeing Rogue. I *will* be getting Rogue after Unity, and if I like the story, I will make a movie from it, which is probably very likely, but for now, I will be focusing on Unity.

As for *when* I will be releasing my Unity movie, that's tricky. No it will not be out right after the game releases. First of all, I want to play the game for myself to just enjoy it without having to worry about all the things that go along with making a movie. Then, I want to complete as many of the trophies as I can, getting the platinum if possible. After that I want to make sure the game isn't selling near the top of the charts anymore, just to make sure most people who want to play the game play it before seeing my movie, rather than watching my movie instead and potentially impacting sales. As always, the movies I make are based on some of my favorite games, and if you enjoy my movies, I highly recommend buying the games and supporting the developers. If you look at my AC4 movie, it came out in January 2014 after the game came out in November, so that might be a good estimate, but I can't guarantee any date.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate (The Movie) KEEPER 23 Views • 3 years ago

Assassin's Creed in Victorian London! Twins Evie and Jacob Frye attempt to regain control of London from the Templars, ending their 100 year reign.

Thanks for being patient with me while I worked on this movie. This game in particular took a long time to record footage for, because of the leveling system. I wanted to make sure my characters were at the recommended level or higher before playing each mission, and I also wanted to make sure I could liberate as much of each zone as possible before entering a mission in that zone, so there was a lot of experience grinding involved while playing this game, which resulted in a total of 32 hours recorded by the end.

Once I finished capturing footage, it didn't take very long to edit. If you don't know about my process, one of the things I do that sets me apart is that I'm determined to bring the experience as close as I can to a true movie going experience, and part of that involves removing any remaining HUD elements through editing and VFX. For the past 4 Assassin's Creed movies, there have been a lot of HUD elements that I have been removing through VFX, with typically over 100 VFX shots. This movie was a little different, for both good and bad reasons.

AC Syndicate improved one area that had been a particular annoyance in past games, and that was the saving/loading icon. Ever since Black Flag, that icon literally appeared after everything you did. Every assassination, etc. It showed up an average of every 30 seconds. Unity improved this frequency somewhat, but also made the icon larger and harder to get rid of. Syndicate did a great job of only showing the icon after major objectives have been completed, and also reduced the length it was shown on screen. I ended up only using 29 VFX shots to get rid of those. A few still remain, however.

On the other hand, Syndicate has, hands down, the most amount of HUD elements that remain on screen even when the options are set to "no HUD'. I removed as much as I can, but there are certain things that were just impossible to remove, so while the experience is a mostly clean image, there are definitely a lot of annoying HUD popups that I couldn't remove. I tried my best! Ubisoft, when we say we want no HUD, let us do just that! Yes we know you may feel certain HUD elements are absolutely necessary to play, but if we want to disable them, we want to disable them. That's why there should be a "minimal HUD" option, in addition to "no HUD". I believe both Unity and Syndicate had those options, but they can still be improved.

As for what I'm doing next, it's going to be Uncharted 4. Uncharted 4 releases May 10th, and I will be playing it day one. I will play all the difficulties and try to go for the platinum trophy, and after I'm done will all of that, I will move on to making the movie. However, I will likely be streaming my "Crushing" mode playthrough, if you're interested in that. Uncharted movies don't usually take too long though, so I'd guess early June for that one, but I'll update you more on that when I start working on it.

After Uncharted 4, I will likely do Assassin's Creed Liberation. I've been putting that one off for a long time, but now I think I will finally have the schedule cleared for that :D Later in the year I also plan to do Rise of the Tomb Raider, after that comes out for PS4. In between ACL and RotTR, I may also do Heavy Rain if I end up liking that game. I suspect there's a good chance of that, based on my experience with Beyond Two Souls, but we'll see.

Assassin's Creed Origins: The Hidden Ones (The Movie) KEEPER 13 Views • 3 years ago

You voted for it, and here it is, my movie edit for The Hidden Ones, the main story DLC expansion for Assassin's Creed Origins. This story takes place 4 years after Assassin's Creed Origins, in the Sinai Peninsula, and features the foundations of important elements of the Assassin's Creed.

I don't often do movie edits for DLC, but this one I felt was too important to the lore of Assassin's Creed to pass up, and it had some really strong story moments as well that I felt fans of my movies should see, and perhaps a glimpse at what's to come in Odyssey? Maybe, maybe not, we'll see.

As always, the goal of these projects to me is to focus on telling the story, rather than showing every second of the game like a walkthrough. I want to create an experience that everybody can understand and enjoy, whether they play video games or not. I do keep a substantial amount of gameplay where necessary, in order to maintain continuity, story flow, or prevent losing viewers by creating plot holes. But I try to keep that gameplay to only the minimum necessary, so that the movie continues to focus on the storytelling.

Many of my movies allow me to make multiple "takes" of each scene until I'm happy with the results. Unfortunately in AC Origins, you aren't allowed to replay scenes, so I really had to deal with what happened the first time through. I tried my best to work with what I could, but admittedly a couple assassination scenes turned out less than ideal. I certainly hope Ubisoft brings back the concept of replaying memories in their future games. It has been an important tool in making these movies for me since AC4.

Like usual, I try to make ther experience as much like watching a hollywood movie as I can. The biggest step in this is removing the HUD. While I could not replay missions, I did study walkthroughs of each mission before I played them so I had some prior knowledge, although the previously mentioned missions were larger and a bit more unpredictable in gameplay. I also use VFX and editing to remove any on screen indicators that remain. In this case, it was pretty much just those pointless and annoying "saving..." reminders that pop up very frequently in AC games, but I was able to remove them all as far as I could tell.

The story of Assassin's Creed Origins edited into a movie. Be sure to keep watching as the credits roll!

Thanks for waiting, this was the longest Assassin's Creed game to finish, so it took extra time to work on as a movie, but all things considered, I was able to finish it faster than I was predicting, but that's mostly due to a more optimized time management system I created for myself, as well as having less hours at my other job than I was expecting this season.

If you're unfamiliar with my work, I highly recommend checking out my channel. I've made a lot of movies, from a lot of games. Origins makes for my 30th movie in total! The idea behind what I do is that I know a lot of people who miss out on the stories from so many of the games I play, so I figure if I could present those stories in a format that feels as close to a hollywood movie as I can, maybe those people can enjoy those stories.

In order to convert the experience of a game into one that feels more like a movie, I put a lot of work into it. If a game has the option, as the AC games do, I turn off the HUD in the settings, disabling on screen menus, reticles, text, button prompts, etc. If the game doesn't have the option, I sometimes have used mods to do it manually. Whatever I can't remove in game, I remove through various editing techniques, whether simply cutting the video, zooming/cropping it out, or using visual effects to remove them manually. Beyond that, I play the story at least once before working on the movie, replay segments multiple times when possible, or if not, do research on all of the scenes to ensure I know the best way to direct the character during the scene. When possible, I also try to focus on directing the camera to try to be more cinematic, but as it is a game, that's not always as possible as I would like.

But these projects also benefit those who have played the games as well, as it condenses the stories, cutting out filler and side missions, reducing the amount of gameplay to only that which serves the story, and focusing on directing more of a cinematic experience overall. When you play the game, you often play for several gameplay sessions over several days, and that fact is even more true with Origins, as this game took me 37 hours to complete total. So by the time you finish playing, there are moments in the story you won't remember at all, or at least, not very clearly. When you watch it as a movie, it's like experiencing the story from a different perspective. Everything that happens in the story is shown in context with all of the other scenes, and the story flows much more smoothly this way. Often times I get a renewed appreciation for the story of a game after watching it in movie form.

As I've been busy with this game since launch (still working towards platinum, over 100 hours into my main save), I will be taking a bit of a break before working on my next movie, in order to catch up with other games on my backlog. In the past, I usually preselected my movies, and I had one I was planning to take on next, but then Youtube created the new "Community" tab, and I thought this would be a cool opportunity to give my fans the chance to vote on my next movie. Shortly after I publish this movie, I will be posting a poll with 5 options for my next movie, and whichever choice is the winner of that poll will be what I work on next.

Assassin's Creed Unity (The Movie) KEEPER 13 Views • 3 years ago

The story of the game Assassin's Creed Unity edited into movie format, including cutscenes and gameplay, and edited so that anybody can understand and enjoy the story, whether you've played the game or not.

Assassin's Creed Unity tells the story of Arno, an assassin in the French Revolution. The story itself is fairly standalone, so feel free to watch this even if you haven't played any of the previous games or watched their movies. However, the other games' movies are available on my channel. If you like the movie, make sure to support the developers of the game by buying it!

Sorry about the wait. I've been working on this movie since mid January. Probably the longest I've worked on a game movie. The biggest reason is that I had to do 243 visual effects shots for this movie. Blame Ubisoft for their insane need to remind us that the game is autosaving every 10 seconds or so. Due to the way I like to make movies, I tried my hardest to remove all of them, and I got most, but some of them were impossible to remove.

For those of you unfamiliar with my process, the idea of these movies is to take a game's story and present it like a movie. I try to do it in a way where you can enjoy it whether you've played the game or not, or even if you don't play video games at all. Even if you've played the game, watching it this way can allow you to view the story in a new light, as the story is condensed into a few hours instead of spread out over what is usually several gameplay sessions. If you can watch it all in one sitting, even better.

Unlike many other youtubers who do something similar, I don't just include the cutscenes, because then you're missing out on critical moments in the story. I include whatever gameplay I feel is necessary to avoid plot holes and keep the story flowing. In order to achieve this I try to keep gameplay to a minimum, but I also try to make sure whatever gameplay I do use is done in a very efficient way, which often requires me to play the same levels multiple times until I do it in a way that I think looks good, much like a director filming multiple takes of a scene.

I also like to make sure the experience is as close to a movie as possible, instead of a game. Assassin's Creed does a great job at allowing you to disable most of the HUD in-game. Unity still shows target markers though unfortunately, and because they're present for 99% of the gameplay, I decided not to try to remove them. Like Black Flag, most of my visual effect work was on removing the autosave indicators, of which there were a lot. For an example, in the first "server bridge" scene alone, there were 14 autosaves. 14. There should have been 1, maybe 2 max.

Once again I must beg Ubisoft to change their autosave behavior. If you show a warning in the beginning it's unnecessary to keep showing an indicator throughout gameplay. You practically have to yank the power cord from the system anyway these days to cause corruption, and I think it's safe to say gamers know not to do that. Plenty of games get away with not showing an autosave indicator anymore. If you are going to show it, don't autosave every few seconds. Do it after completing an objective or starting a cutscene or something, but not after every move the player makes. It's ridiculous.

If you've never played/seen another Assassin's Creed game, don't worry, this game pretty much has no spoilers whatsoever, except maybe a couple small things that would only really be a minor spoiler if you had an eidetic memory.

As for future movie plans, my next movie will either be Shadow of Mordor or Assassin's Creed Rogue. After that it will probably be Arkham Knight, and if I have time, I may also be able to release an Assassin's Creed Liberation movie this year. Next year there's Uncharted 4 and possibly Rise of the Tomb Raider. If I run out of ideas there's always a Last of Us Remastered or Tomb Raider Definitive Edition movie I could make, as well as the rumored Uncharted Remasters. I'm also currently playing through the Metal Gear Solid series due to recommendations from my fans. Currently on MGS2. There may be some potential in that series for a movie too, but I'm not yet sure about that, and there may be length issues too. We'll see.

Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag (The Movie) KEEPER 16 Views • 3 years ago

Sorry for such the long wait for this one. This game is long. Before I make a movie out of any game, I need to play it for myself first. Play it without worrying about my "acting" or "directing" as it were, as I specifically play games certain ways when I make these movies, to try to improve the movie experience as much as possible. This game took me over 60 hours to complete the main story, and 80 hours to get 100%. Why? Well, for one, I don't like to use fast travel in these games. It sort of feels like cheating. Allowing myself to sail the open seas also brought some of the best gameplay I've ever played, so I'm glad I chose not to fast travel. Furthermore, every time I visited a location, I searched for all the collectables at that location as well, so I would take less time in end game searching for that stuff.

Once I finished with 100% and all single player trophies, I started over and started working on my movie. For this, I disabled all HUD elements (as much as possible) and didn't bother collecting any collectables, but I till didn't use any fast travel, as I thought it was important to have sea footage available if necessary for editing. In the end I captured over 24 hours of footage. In many cases I tried to stick to the optional objectives, but not always, for example, if they were out of my way. I used visual effects to remove some of the unwanted on screen popups, such as the "saving..." logo wherever possible (it's not always possible due to what else is happening on screen) as well as a few other things in order to improve the overall cinematic experience, to get it as close to a movie as possible.

I considered cutting the modern day segments as the story doesn't progress much and the first person perspective somewhat detracts from the experience, as well as the historical story might have flowed better without them, but I was worried that what happens in this modern story may be important for AC5, so I kept it in just in case, although I did edit it down significantly.

This is the PS4 version, captured at full 1080p, 30fps.

As for future projects, I'm not quite sure what I'll be doing next. The good news is I have graduated college, and my job is only two days a week, so I should have much more free time to work on future projects, unlike the last year or so.

One game in particular I feel deserves a movie is Beyond: Two Souls. I also received Batman: Arkham Origins. I don't know yet whether I will make a movie from that or not, but if the story is good enough, I'll definitely consider it. Another game I'm definitely making into a movie is Assassin's Creed Liberation HD, which comes out next week. I think I'm going to play Arkham Origins as well as a couple other games I've been delaying before I decide what to do next. As for future PS4 games, Infamous Second Son looks promising, and maybe Watch Dogs depending on how well the story is told, and obviously Uncharted 4 was announced a couple months ago, so that is my #1 most anticipated game on PS4 and will absolutely get a movie made from it. I may also get MGS5, but I want to buy the Legacy Collection first, since I haven't played any of those. I've heard those may have movie potential as well, so we'll see about that.

Assassin's Creed Rogue's story edited into a movie, in glorious 4K!

Sorry about the wait, here's my movie of Assassin's Creed Rogue! I originally planned to release this earlier this year, but when I was done with my Unity movie, I was a little fatigued with Assassin's Creed and needed to move onto something else, so I did Shadow of Mordor, and then felt like I needed to get my Arkham Knight movie out as soon as possible, so that came next. After that I had to take a short break to play MGS5, and that game took longer than I thought to beat, so by the time that was done, there just wasn't enough time to complete this one before Syndicate's release like I originally planned.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with my work, the goal is to take the story of a game, and present it in movie form, so that everybody cn enjoy the story, whether they play games or not. Even if you've played the game, you usually play the game over several days. By the end of your play time, you will probably have forgotten many of the early story details. By watching the whole thing from start to end on a movie, you can get a much better picture of the story as a whole, as it all stays fresh in your mind. Then of course if you don't play games, or didn't play this particular game, this allows you to enjoy the story without needing to play the game. Although of course, I do recommend playing any game that I turn into the movie if possible.

Obviously the focus of the story is in the cutscenes, but I can't only show the cutscenes, because a good portion of the story is told through the gameplay. I try to keep gameplay to the minimum necessary for telling the story, preventing plot holes, and maintaining a good flow. I also try to reduce what I refer to as "gameplay indicators", in other words, the stuff you see on screen that makes it obvious you're watching a game and not a hollywood movie. Thankfully the Assassin's Creed games allow me to disable most of that stuff, but some things remain. I tried to remove as much of the remaining things as possible (like most of the autosave notifications). I created 75 visual effects shots to accomplish this, in addition to some editing tricks.

Thankfully I've been playing Assassin's Creed Syndicate, and it seems that they've done a lot to the autosave indicator to make it less obvious and less common as well, so when I finally get to working on that one, it shouldn't take as long. That being said, Syndicate won't be my next movie. While waiting for Arkham Knight on PC to run better, I started recording footage from The Order 1886, and I recorded and edited a third of that game, so I will return to working on that and finishing that next (after I have a short break to catch up on some games I haven't finished recently)

So next is The Order 1886, then AC Syndicate, and then most likely Uncharted 4. Although if The Order takes me a long time to complete, I may do Uncharted 4 before Syndicate. Right now though I don't think it will be too bad.

Assassin's Creed [2007 Game] (The Movie) KEEPER 20 Views • 3 years ago

After a long wait, I've finally released my next game made into a feature film - Assassin's Creed. The Assassin's Creed series is one of my favorite series this generation, and with the recent AC3 release, I thought this series would be a great next series to turn into movies.

I want to make note that this game is not the greatest game in the series. It's often referred to as either the worst or second worst. However, I thought that it was important to include it in my series in order to get a good idea of the basic idea of the series. The main reason this game is often criticized is the fact that it is extremely repetitious. Even with the editing I did, you will definitely notice this to be true. However, I hope the form of editing I did helps move the story along smoother than actually playing the game does, which should allow this game to possibly be more watchable as a movie than playable as a game.

That being said, I still love the game. The game was truly innovative when it came out, especially in regards to the control system, the animations, and the sheer amount of detail, accuracy and freedom of the climbing / freerunning aspects of the game. Not only that, but it contains a great deal of information I find critical to understanding the overall mythology of the series. While AC2 does a quick recap, I don't think you get the full experience you would playing the game instead. If you like the movie, please support the great developers at Ubisoft and buy the game!

I would like to note that while this game contains several cinematic sequences, it's not nearly as cinematic in nature as the Uncharted series, so expect it to be less movie-like and more game-like in that regard. However, I've done my best to try to bring out the movie experience in this game. I've removed as much of the HUD as I could, and as with the Uncharted series, I've only included the bare minimum gameplay necessary to understand the story. However, due to the structure of the game, this led to me including far more gameplay than I had anticipated, which is why the movie is as long as it is.

As you might know, this is the shortest Assassin's Creed game. Clearly I wasn't expecting the movie to be this long. Even the final edit has over 20 minutes cut from my original edit. So this does worry me a bit for the future games. However, the other games are far more cinematic than this game, and have a far more streamlined form of storytelling. I'm hoping that this will allow for more freedom in editing than this game allowed me to do. However, if the games result in substantially longer length movies, I may release them in 2 parts. Think of movies like Kill Bill or Lord of the Rings, where they're really just one long movie split into parts.

I want to note that I recorded this on my PC at 720p. While I've recently upgraded to a fairly beefy GTX 480 graphics card, I still have an outdated CPU. As such, many CPU-intensive portions the game will experience a drop in frame rate. This was further impacted by the capture software. I have tweaked this in spots because it caused a loss of sync in some cutscenes, but there are definitely some spots where you'll see a noticeable drop in frame rate, particularly in scenes with large crowds of people, due to the sheer detail in the character models used in this game, as well as a game engine that's not very well optimized to make use of quad core CPUs or more modern GPUs.

Finally, I will be releasing the other games as movies as well. However, they will not be released right away as the Uncharted movies were. I'm currently in school right now, so I rarely have free time. Also, the free time I do have right now will be allocated to working on finishing my other movie project "Buck and Drake 3: Buck to the Future" (trailer available on my channel). However, I hope to finish working on the project in the upcoming months, if I can, and as soon as you see that film released, you will know I'm working on the next Assassin's Creed movie.

She then asked everyone why it's ok for him to have grey hair but not her. She also said that she was criticized for having too many wrinkles. She says she doesn't have enough. Looks like women haven't receive the memo that men generally find them attractive for their fertility and their youth. Not their grey pubes and wrinkly breasts as they get to the age where they start wearing depends. At some age you have to wonder if a woman's ass is bigger because she's wearing diapers or if she's just had too much ranch dressing at the town and country buffet. I was alerted to this story by someone named TigPlaze and he posted this about it on the going your own way dot com forum and I quote: "Just because there's very little interest in her sequel to Sex And the City, that must mean everyone hates women. Leave it to an entitled actress to misuse the word "misogyny," which is supposed to mean "hatred of women." Her original show caught lightning in a bottle in that it found an audience that liked the show and kept watching it. Good for her, but most people were working normal jobs. Some were mundane jobs. Some were dangerous ones. Some were soul crushing. Meanwhile Ms Parker got to fulfill her life's dream by being on a popular TV show. Now, because she doesn't get to do that again, it must be because the public hates women? Get real. She's lucky her first show did so well. There's even a small chance her new show will catch on with a niche audience. I'd doubt it. Hollywood keeps pushing rehashed and uncreative shows and films on the public, and most people are sick and tired of that. She went online trying to drum up support for her new show, and she's shocked that people have commented on how much she and her former co-stars have aged. Let me get this straight. She went online and expected to be treated with kid gloves? People are going to notice that she's aged. How could they not? Does she not understand that part of her original show's appeal was that she and her co-stars were good looking? They were attractive, and people found the stories told by that show to be interesting. Maybe she should count her lucky stars. There are
actors who struggle for years in Hollywood, only to have their finest role on their resume be something like, "fat bouncer dude" or "hot chick who gets murdered." Parker got to live her creative dream. Now if the public isn't interested enough in having her do that again, everyone must be a bunch of misogynists. Feminist entitlement is unbelievable." Well TigPlaze the show isn't even out yet but I don't think it's going that well so what better way to prepare a response for it's failure then to attack the critics before it ever comes out?
