Engineer Living in a Beautiful Earthship Shares Valuable Insight! KEEPER 14 Views • 3 years ago

Mark is a structural engineer who works on alternative structures and is currently the caretaker of the Darfield Earthship in BC. He's been living there for nearly 2 years, and is also in the process of designing several Earthships so he is an incredible resource. I spoke to someone in Canada that fought in Afghanistan and he was the first Canadian I've spoken to in my sessions that could see the writing on the wall when it comes to Canada and could see that this country is in serious trouble and in his words we are sleepwalking into socialism. That our glorious leader wearing his rubber ducky socks is a simp and that he's more Peter Pan than man wearing tights. That when it comes to masculinity standing next to his wife Sophie he is the pantyhose prime minster. Canadian Women are becoming increasingly masculinized and resembling men with boobs. Why wouldn't they take on the male appearance which they see as the old authority that men had over them. It's almost as if Canadian women are feminizing the men while masculinizing themselves because they see power as being masculine. Skippy Trudeau has stated that he wants 50% of all politicians to be women going forward. What happens when they make up more than fifty percent. Will has cabinet of ministers that he selected still look like a representation of the Canadian population at that point? Or will it represent the percentage of male versus female elected officials. That's the point where we will see weather or not it was ever about equality or if it was about women and the cucks that enable them pull off a soft cooch coup in Canada. So that gentleman I spoke to also made another great point about how men in the Soviet Union drank themselves to death after the cold war was over and the average male life expectancy in the USSR was reduced to the fifties to early sixties for men back then. That Canada's men are facing a similar crisis right now with regards to homelessness and the Opiod crisis. During the coof I travelled to a few small towns and cities in Ontario including Stratford, Oshawa and Cambridge to film some videos. In Oshawa I was interviewing someone in a museum and was told by him to remove my valuables from my car because there are addicts breaking into cars all the time. I also saw homeless people in Stratford and Cambridge. I have never seen that before. So there is definitely some truth to that. Where is the equal representation in the homeless population? Where are the female homeless or can they always polish a man's knob as their cash job? What I learned in my mid twenties and then again in my mid thirties when I left relationships is that equality works until it doesn't. A woman might treat you equally and do the things that you want half the time while you do the things she wants during the other half but eventually she makes a move for control of the relationship either in a soft or hard way and if that happens it's up to you to do one of a few things. Number one you call her out on it and say that it isn't fair that she makes more than fifty percent of the decisions in the relationship and she agrees to share power. But remember by doing this she's going to resent you later on and hate you for forcing her to share. She might get spiteful and ruin your life because you told her you wanted to visit your parents one weekend and her parents the next. Instead of visiting her parents one weekend and her sister or friends the next. How dare you deny her choice in who she socializes with and when.

⁣I think he really knows his stuff but it sort of seems to border on "Vegan Fanatacisim".

"Every food is bad for you and everything is taboo" - so to speak.

I am not a fan of radical mung bean philosophy, but there are squillions of people who ate anything and everything contrary to SOME of his ideas, and they died of old age and nautral causes.

100 - 200 years ago, most people ate fresh vegetables and meat and anything else they could get to suppliment the diet.

Though I would not discount ⁣Gabriel Cousens as an idiot and for many of us, cleaning our diets right up, is probably a very good idea, I just wish he would put up a list of good foods and bad foods and what an appropriate amount is to consume on a daily basis.

I look at the FOODS that he is into and for the most part, they are brilliant...

But I am rather circumspect about the mystical lotions and potions he sells in his online store....

He does a line of Tachyonised mystical things, and from my ancient memory, a Tachyon was a mythical faster than light partical that was used in time travel devices and faster than light ships. This is great for science fiction, and a good bullshit yarn, but I don't know if he is expressing his sense of humor, or making up a clever marketing name, or is a bonafide kook, but you cannot add magical influences to your snake oils, if there is no magic. It's not to say his lotions and potions are worthless, but anything with "Tachyonised" at $90 a small bottle, tends to add incredulity to it's claims of great efficacy.

In terms of loony tunes rationalisations, where everything causes diabetes, he keeps citing statistics of how much so many things, cause diabetes.... "If you eat more than 2 eggs a week your chances of developing diabetes go up by 28%" - I call horse shit on his studies and him his act of quoting them. Almost all people get diabetes from eating starch and sugars, in large amounts and from not exercising. From his list, you would have to avoid almost everything, even fresh air.

But I will not shit can him outright. He is NOT a complete fool, and the VEGAN foods he is creating and all that, ARE FRESH LIVING PLANT FOODS. This is really good shit. I'd be prepared to go with his foods and have a decent amount of eggs, cheese, meat and all that as well.

I have put up a couple of videos by Harry Lustic - a straight university / endrochonologist who essentially is NO fool, and he is saying more or less identical / similar thing, so I know Cousens is not an idiot. Who knows, I might buy his book and read it.

So I decided to cover an 2018 article I put in the description called: "Male Sexlessness is Rising But Not for the Reasons Incels Claim" I found this article on a MGTOW forum and the person posting is said that this article is making that arguement that the primary reason young unmarried men aren't getting sex is because there's a delay in marriage these days in our society. The author goes as far as saying this and I quote: "The rise of young male sexlessness isn’t about Chads and Stacies; it isn’t primarily about Tinder or Bumble; it’s not mostly about attitudinal shifts in what women want from relationships; and it’s not mainly about some new war between the sexes. It’s mostly about people spending more years in school and spending more years living at home. But that’s not actually a story about some change in sexual politics; instead, it’s a story about the modern knowledge economy, and to some extent exorbitant housing costs. As such, it’s no surprise that rising sexlessness is being observed in many countries. This, in turn, suggests that finding a solution to help young people pair up may not be as easy." unquote. So Lyman Stone the author of this article has the perfect name because in a way he's lying to us. He says that the rise in the number of incels out there isn't primarily about Tinder and Bumble. By Lyman is right when he says that the exorbitant housing costs and guys living with their parents well into adulthood means unmarried men are getting much less sex than previous generations. He says women are not selecting men they find unappealing and there are more sue men because in the modern knowledge economy women are more likely to be highly educated and looking for a partner with the same qualities. Or are looking for men with money. But most millennial men don't have a house, let alone the massive down payment required to get a home. There are multiple factors for the rise in incels. More young guys are living with their parents and we saw a sharp rise in that after 2009 which coincides perfectly with the Global Financial Crisis of 2008 and 2009. He has graphs in the article pointing that out. What he's not discussing is men's side of the story. Many guys are saying they aren't finding partners that meet their standards for marriage. Quite often we hear women complain about how they can't find a good man. But no one listens to men when they say they can't find a good woman. The only reason women probably spew that story over and over again is so that men can't say that the woman out there are bad and the juice isn't worth the squeeze anymore. It's projection. You can't say that women are bad when they say they can't find a good man first. By asking where have all the good men gone they are painting all men as bad and themselves as perfect two hundred pound angels with horns, imaginary perky boobs and high heeled hooves and men are the devils. If he had said something like that I don't think his editor would have published the story. There was a drop in both unmarried men and unmarried women not having sex around 2003. Only 12% of both unmarried males and females were sexless for a year or longer back in 2010.

Incredible Mini Earthship Style Cabin - Tiny Off Grid House with Solar Power KEEPER 34 Views • 3 years ago

In this video, we tour a mini earth ship style cabin at the Terra Perma community (http://terraperma.ca/en) to learn how the building is designed to produce heat, water, and power; all while being 100% off-grid.

The interior design of the tiny house is not only functional, but incredibly beautiful as well: It features relief cob sculptures on the interior walls, a dazzling recycled bottle wall, and floor to ceiling south facing windows.

The tiny home away from home was built using over 200 recycled tires that were filled with earth and stacked in a semi circle to create the main wall of the cabin. This wall was then covered (backfilled) with a mound of earth to create a thermal mass that will store energy from the sun and help keep the home at a stable temperature year-round.

To mitigate temperature fluctuations, there is a wood stove and radiant in-floor heating for cold months, and when it's warm out, there's a low-tech air conditioning system that cools indoor air by circulating it through a pipe that is buried under the mound of earth at the back of the house, and bringing it back into the house at a cooler temperature.

The metal roof is built on an angle to optimize rainwater collection (their rainwater ducts had not yet been installed when we were there), and the overhang at the front provides shade to the structure during the summer to avoid overheating.

To power the in-floor heating system, the air pump, the lights, and the electrical outlets, there is a 1000 Watt solar power system installed behind the cabin.

You'll notice that there is no toilet or shower inside the earthship. To keep things simple they built an outhouse toilet, and a communal shower block for all of the eco-lodges (kind of like what you'd find at a campground).

Terrasol is one of several miniature green building structures at Terra Perma that are rented to the public as vacation rentals. They're also a great way for people to experience living in different types of sustainable, hand built structures to see what living off grid is like. In addition to the earthship, they have a mini cob and straw bale house, 2 yurts, a tiny house, and a mini cordwood cabin.

Terra Perma has property lots for sale for anyone who wishes to live in the permaculture community, and they also have cooperative business opportunities for eco-entrepreneurs.

Mat and I met Elan from Terra Perma during the tiny house festival in Lantier, Quebec in July 2016 and adjusted our filming schedule to stop by and check out the super cool buildings he was helping to put up in Harrington, Quebec, Canada. We camped in our van at Terra Perma for 2 nights and had fun exploring their mini sustainable buildings, swimming in their private lake, and tasting their homemade maple syrup!

Brilliant DIY Off-Grid Water Heater Using a Rocket Stove – No Propane! KEEPER 37 Views • 3 years ago

This is a brilliant DIY hack for creating an off-grid water heater with just a simple handmade rocket stove, water barrel, and copper pipes! No pump! No propane!

It was built by a couple of incredible people we met last summer, Sebastien and Isabelle. They're passionate about reconnecting with the earth and finding sustainable ways to live. One of their hobbies is experimenting with rocket stoves and making them function as a cooktop, a heat source, and sometimes even as a hot water heater.

A rocket stove is a simple stove with 3 openings: the one at the bottom for building your fire, the middle one is to feed wood to the fire, and the one at the top is a chimney. By winding copper pipes inside the cob walls of the chimney, water in the pipes is heated up and circulated from the water barrel, around the rocket stove, and back into the barrel by a process called: thermosiphon.

According to Wikipedia, a thermo syphon "is a method of passive heat exchange, based on natural convection, which circulates a fluid without the necessity of a mechanical pump."

Our minds were blown when we learned about this passive heat exchange that didn't require electricity or propane!

This is their first prototype and they're hoping to refine the system this year. Now that they know it works, they're hoping to use an insulated hot water tank that will keep the water warm for longer (and avoid using a plastic barrel to heat water). This will eventually be an outdoor shower for them.
