Daisy and Butterknife met because of Twix and I, and Daisy saw $ signs. Butterknife and Daisy got together, while they both did everything in their power to keep Twix and I apart. This ended up snowballing over time, until I was forced to sue Butterknife and legally by force take the house into 100% my name. I had had an unexpected windfall of money land on my lap, and with drama having forced Twix, Daisy, & Butterknife out of my life, I renovated the house into a 2 unit, and became a landlord, just in time for bloody covid to hit. After this, I had my own life shaken up, I lost my job, my business as a landlord fell into a crisis, and I needed a fresh start. I had a friend who was running a business a state over from me, he had been trying to hire someone for 3 months, so I reached out, and now I am where I am now. I currently live out of a tent next to a river, I'm working and living in a small town of 1,100 people. My living expenses are next to nothing. I'm getting the best sleep of my life. Surprisingly, my sex drive is just gone. I had already gotten to the point before the move to where sex itself was completely pointless for me, I just end up feeling worthless and hating myself, I get no sensation of physical or sexual pleasure at all from the activity. I had been satisfying my needs through online fapping matieral. But moving out here has made it to where I don't need to do any of that at all. I found everytime I return to that city of 60k people, all the mental issues come back. However, staying out here, surrounded by nature, seems to be fixing all my problems. As a final note, I don't want to ever get married, I don't ever want to do long term romantic relationships again, I don't ever want to do short term romantic relationships again, I don't want to get into sexual parterships again. I'm fine with having female friends, its quite fun to make them suffer through verbal methods when they make the mistake of engaging into an arguement with me. I have crippling anxiety and depression which makes it close to impossible to achieve any of my goals. I have no sense of self worth. I am currently on Zoloft and an anti-anxiety med to help me survive the day. Before the meds I was having constant unending panic attacks, my anxiety was at about a 10 and I couldn't function, all I wanted was for the pain to end, which I could only think was death. Since I was a kid, I would either be overrun by anxiety or depression, to a lesser degree than now. Over the years it got worse and worse and I feared one day that I would end up like this. I have gone to therapy for many years since I was 8-24 before forced by the school and later in hopes of me getting better before it was too late. By each therapist I felt betrayed, they would ask me to forgive my mom and say she wasn't that bad, I felt like they took to the "struggling black single mom is strong" narrative that she spins. My sessions usually end up with me arguing and explaining all the reasons she is bad and hurt me, like hitting me, screaming at me, gaslighting, getting my uncle to beat me, using my cousin as a weapon to hurt me when she was upset, blamed me for ruining her life, didn't take care of me to the point where I got diabetes and went blind for a year, constantly made weird sexual remarks to me and grabbed my butt a lot and so on and so on. I try to study things but I just end up avoiding it or having panic attacks while trying to study. I failed out of college twice when trying to write my final papers but I couldn't, I call it the wall when this happens, when I'm trying to do an activity but I just can't do it, like there is a wall stopping me. My days are mostly spent watching YouTube and porn, well minus the porn since starting the medication. I don't really feel sexual pleasure maybe like on a scale of 1-3 sometimes but most of the the time I don't feel anything, I still feel the urge but no pay off, which leaves me feeling depressed and empty inside. I do have friends but I end up ruining most of my friendships through how depressed I get and my lack of trust. I would go on and on telling them how they don't love me or care about me and how I'm a worthless human, just bashing myself nonstop until there is no one there to listen. I do know these things are irrational, like me having value and people caring about me, but in the moment it all seems to real. I know I've brought value to others , by saving a person's life, talking people off of killing themselves, providing emotional support, defending kids growing up from bullies, I volunteered for many years at a soup kitchen, but inside I feel like I have no value. Dear Stef: Things aren't great. I've been in a relationship with my partner for about six years, last year we bought a house and started trying for a baby, and we're now pregnant. That's the good news. I started listening to the show around 2017 so about three years ago and have been doing some self reflection and some therapy. I lied about finishing tertiary education to my partner and my family. I kept it up, despite the toll it was taking on my soul, so I comforted myself with the slow death of fast food: I never got obese but somewhat portly. I'm still keeping to this habit but I have been swinging on and off, an addiction. It is straining my finances and putting pressure on my relationship with the mother of my child. She has said that she doesn't love me anymore and doesn't want to be with me, but also says I'm a good person. I love her very much, I love her virtue, she makes me want match her values. I know I've said some awful things and acted without virtue, without respect and love for her or myself, I just need someone to talk some of this out with, I can provide additional information in the chat. Is this situation salvageable? It might not come across as desperate, but I'm terrified of the life my child could have if we split up for good, I only what to be there as support for her and the baby. No pressure to read all this, but I didn’t want you to think I couldn’t make a case for what I was asserting. a. They have a financial incentive. All the Core developers work for a company called Blockstream. Blockstream’s main product is a thing called Liquid. They call it a sidechain, but basically it's a payment network that runs on top of Bitcoin and they collect fees from it. If Bitcoin works as a payment network, Blockstream doesn’t have a business model. They need Bitcoin to suck as a payment network in order for their product to have a place in the market. https://blockstream.com/liquid/ b. They lie. In 2016 representatives of Core met representatives of Bitcoin miners to discuss increasing the blocksize. At the time miners were signaling that they were going to switch to running code produced by a different development team. The Core developers promised the miners that they would double the blocksize if the miners promised to update their nodes to include a new feature called Segwit. Segwit was needed for Blockstream’s Liquid sidechain to work. When the time came they insisted that Segwit be activated months before the blocksize increase and the miners complied. They contradict themselves. At the time Core proponents said that it was immoral to change the code if not everyone agrees to it. That doesn’t make sense, because they had no problem making an enormous controversial change to Bitcoin’s design, but if anyone wrote code that disagreed with Core’s code, it was an attack! d. They’re wrong about important stuff. A big argument Core said at the time for why we shouldn’t do a blocksize increase was because they said Segwit was already a blocksize increase. Segwit rearranges data in the block in a way that in theory can trick a miner into thinking a block is smaller than it really is. Core said that effect would roughly double the amount of transactions the network could process. Then they said if we do a doubling of the blocksize on top of Segwit that would really be like a quadrupling of the transaction throughput and that would be crazy dangerous. In reality, Segwit had almost no effect on transaction bandwith. e. They lied about the lightning network. All the Core devs said there’s no need to worry about transaction throughput because the Lightning Network was coming. That was like 5 years ago and it still doesn’t work even in concept. They promised it would be like a giant mess network, so people could still pay each other peer to peer, but when they were asked how payments were supposed to route though the mess network, which is the most important part of the concept they just pretended it would be this easy thing to solve and they’d figure it out later. The lightning network today is like 4 big banks that have payment channels with each other. You have to custodially deposit your money with them, because there is no way to route your payments without their assistance. It's nothing like what they promised and said would be ready years ago. They use censorship. /r/Bitcoin and Bitcointalk.org were the main forums for bitcoin discussion back in the day and one day the moderators of both forums just literally started deleting and banning everyone who talked about the original scaling plan. Thousands of people making rational arguments got banned. I got banned. It only looked like there was consensus to change the scaling plan because they banned everyone who disagreed with Core. From the CEO of Coinbase in 2016, “There continues to be rampant censorship on /r/bitcoin regarding this debate, which is unfortunate. I continue to encourage everyone to move to /r/btc as an alternative that is censorship free.” In case you weren’t aware /r/btc is the main forum for BCH discussion. That’s where everyone went when they were banned from /r/bitcoin. Then later the split happened and Bitcoin Cash had to take a new ticker. That’s why it has the wrong subreddit name.
