My grandfather was 17 had a wife in iowa she was working on bombers at the plant. The allies would bomb the rail roads and bridges so they went out to repair he one time caught a chicken killed it hanged it outside of the train car said if caught the germans would have executed everyone in the car. He came home and tried to talk about what all happened people at that time called him a liar why today people said it didnt happen he opened up after 30 yrs. As a teenager i was smart and could talk to him over i was young and had an open mind. I did a report on him in high school this liberal visiting sub teacher would not allow me to do the report my teacher that week i remember was in a car accident i was forced to be in the nursing office all week so he could get rid of me.
