1984 by George Orwell

If you can forgive the sin of omission. This version is almost totally complete, except for the ending, however, we must not discredit the 99% that is there. It became a MEME of late, that "1984 is not a manual".... but I have read the book, and the audio version is is a recounting, and observation and interpretation of the events of his time, and when a record is reread, it becomes a manual. This is an excellent book, a story as it were. When I read the paper version of the book, it was good, and it was only when I got to the last page that the soul crushing iron curtain came down. But when I heard this audio book, almost the whole books was a soul crushing "manual of doom". Normally I would not have kept or uploaded a 99% complete book - but this version is so plain speak double plus authentic despair, that there are great portions of a doctrin of doom. This is like a fine study of the psyops of despair. "It does not have to be nice to be good, Winston."
