A symbol of hope | RT visits a town on the front line

For most, the ‘hammer and sickle’ is a symbol of Russia’s past, but for some caught up in the conflict in Ukraine, it’s a symbol for the present, and it’s a symbol for hope. As the ever-changing face of the front line sees soldiers and equipment come and go, the ever-present reality for civilians is the threat of shelling by Ukrainian forces, or having their homes and schools turned into bases for war. <br> <br>In the town of Belogorovka, the hammer and sickle gives hope that an end to the conflict may be in sight.
