The only "fat" in the modern airlines is in the CEO, the corporate parasites, and predatory (((banksters))) who are positioned to skim, scam, grift, and extort profits. All on the backs of the slaves who work for them and the slaves who ride on them.

It all started when Jimmy Carter recklessly deregulated the airlines. The legacy airlines represented massive capital investment and social contract obligations. You CANNOT expect a complex infrastructure like that to survive in chaos. Deregulation created the bad service that We Teh Slaves have been trained to accept. Now it is falling apart and there's no "fat" in the system to fall back on.
