Artillery and Gunshots Heard Near Lugansk

The exchange was heard from Veseloya Gora, a village just north of the city of Lugansk, the capital of one of the two breakaway regions recently recognized by Moscow.
The gunfire and artillery could be heard on a trek through the desolate area, with Ukraine reportedly planning to impose a state of national emergency from which the breakaway regions of Lugansk and Donetsk would be exempt.
