The very first recorded tool use by our direct ancestors, was the use of big stones, to smash open the bones to the marrow out... then came the flint and volcanic glass knives to cut hides, meats, leather, and to tip spears and arrows, AND fire to cook on and keep warm with, and then came oral and the written recorded history - and the mechanical printing and mass distribution, and the dissemination through the various guilds, mechanics institutes and libraries - and now we have monster printing presses, the internet and photocopiers... and video.
