Barrels of fun | Traditional wine barrel race delights visitors

It was a barrel of laughs in Montepulciano, Italy on Sunday as visitors from across the country came to watch the traditional wine barrel race. The competition, held between eight local districts, pits two men at a time, known as Spingitori, against the local geography as competitors race 1,800m rolling an 80kg barrel of wine through the town’s winding streets… uphill. <br> <br>The (perhaps slightly too) jubilant victors win a scarf.
