A nice high torque, low speed, "British universal motorcycle" style of bike - like a 500 cc single... The plastic rocket ships are crash prone and expensive to fix. A Royal Enfield style of bike is a great bike... easy to get on and off, simpler, narrow, relatively easy to thread through traffic and to park...
But get an easy to see colour....

Also the road trail type bikes give you more ground clearance and you can go more places on them - which is great....
