I was thinking - before this video even started, was to pump salt water into the battery compartment - as the salt water will short out all the batteries - discharging them - and with enough flow rate, that will carry away all the excess heat...

Just saying - Why I am tripping most of the time.... "Out there with the cosmos Man!".

EVs go nuclear all the damn time, what is i this 'it rarely happens' bullshit...
at least one a day all over the world, way more than gas powered vehicles do.

no more EVs, problem fixed, also those batteries are meant to be dangerous and built for failure.

like i said before, either sea water or the same powder/lather-suds that is used on airplanes to put out fires...
it is basically the same thing that can happen with runaway nuclear fission event making a radioactive slug...

It's about time someone figured out how to extinguish those mobile crematoriums!

no one figured it out, this was already known it just so happens that the information was ignored until recently...

when the first nuclear reactor was created and tested etc. they already figured this stuff out, that is why nuclear subs are designed to pump sea/ocean water directly in the pile of the reactor if there is ever any problems...

@sbseed: I didn't know that...now I do!

@sbseed: I thought warm salt water compresses were better for piles....

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: never read or heard of heated salt water being better or used at all... in the reactor that would actually be extremely dangerous since salt is corrosive and heated salt water would speed up that process...

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: they might used a type of brine or salt water mixture for other parts of the reactor/heat exchange/turbine potentially but i could only see that being used for backup diesel engines to help with heat regulation in a radiator type setup. altho i could be wrong about that. as i am not any kind of expert on nuclear reactors....

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: also because of the corrosive nature of sea salt and the radiation they use a lot of titanium in many/most of the 'hot' parts of the reactors, of course with plenty of shielding as well lead being one of the main materials (obviously)... that is about the extent of my knowledge on nuclear reactors for the most part. (which is true as far as i know)

@sbseed: You missed it..... Piles is another word for heamorrhoids. That sly little joke went straight over your head....
