I would not mind a bit of home brew racing - if the ring road was closed for an hour once every three months on a quiet Sunday afternoon - for a genuine street race - and people just went for it - there and back...
I think that would be quite a spectator sport - good competition and injuries and fatalities are part and parcel of racing....
And aside from the annoyance factor from the loud exhausts etc., if these people were to race along the freeway at 3am - when there was no other traffic on it... I would not mind that much.
But doing 200 - 300+ Kmh type speeds in modest density traffic, in a 100 Kmh zone - this is just TOO fucking dangerous.
I don't mind if people fuck themselves up - but killing and injuring innocents who have nothing to do with their stupidity, just give them a summary execution on the spot.
This is not an amazing race - it's a lot of near misses and close calls....
They have NO RIGHT to endanger the life and well being of other people like that.
