As Hurricane Ian struck the east coast of Florida, residents prepared for the worst. But few could have expected Ian to have been as fierce and devastating as it turned out to be. Roads filled with upturned boats, washed inland by the torrential waves (which also deposited a few sharks on the road for good measure). Buildings, too, were battered and broken in the wake of the hurricane’s deadly winds and rains. Fort Myers was no different.

Emergency centers were overflowing in the aftermath, as some areas of the city were left without power. At least ten people died; however, the death toll is expected to rise significantly as rescue workers assess the damage and clear the rubble. Ian may go down in history as the worst hurricane to ever strike Florida.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Freedom over censorship, truth over narrative.
Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RTnews
Follow us on Telegram: t.me/rtnews
Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/RT_com
