In 2001 I Had To Bury My 23 year old Son . That was One Of The Hardest Thing's I Ever Had to Do ! But What This Man Has On His Plate Is Just As Hard Or Even Worse ! Who Knows How Long He Will Have To Endure This Pain ! Trans People Never Think Of The Pain There Parents Are In Because Of There Sickness !! I-- Feel For This Father.... Sooo Sad !

I'll never understand it, but at the same time you only get one life . Does the son just keep going on every day just to keep people he knows happy? Is whatever he decides to do really hurting anyone else? Far as I'm concerned if you are not hurting anyone do what makes you happy. This is America. Millions died so this person can make himself happy. I draw the line when they are promoting it in schools and letting them into female dressing rooms. That shit is not ok.

I agree with you, but when people decide to do this they have to understand that it affects other people. This acceptance movement pushes people to do this without really thinking it through. More than half of transgenders regret their decisions...more than 40% who get surgery commit suicide...more than 40% who don't get surgery commit suicide. This is obviously a mental illness or the suicide rates would not be so high. I'm quite sure the father has this worry for his son...even if he doesn't know that is the reason.

@cantaffordher: I think these people are going to kill themselves living as something they don't see themselves as. They are a disaster mentally. People throw other people's feelings aside for any number of reasons. They accept the consequences and deal with it. Should this son not be able to do it as well just because it doesn't make any sense to us? Kids born to Democrats(Like myself) go Republican and vice versa. Should I be miserable as a Democrat just because my family was?

I'm glad I'll never have to deal with that particular situation.

I'm not sure people realize this but psychiatrists regularly get together decide what exactly is and isn't a mental illness. That's why diagnostic manuals are regularly updated. Distrust of government is now considered a mental illness. Think about that. That's seriously fucked up.
