Dark Stoicism

I learn the songs by ear and memorize them. If I run into a really difficult lick, I'll write it down and then memorize it. I rarely have to do that step anymore though. But there's super hard shit too that I need to work harder on. I can almost keep up with Sir James Galway in my jazz fashion.

Another must listen to Jobim album, with much of this one in English, is Terra Brasilis. Jobim wrote music for beautiful women. I find Jobim's songs are asking for flute more than sax, even though I'm a sax player first.

OK, Aaron, try this album by Jobim out. Nevermind it's in Portuguese. It's a master album by perhaps one of the greatest composers of the last century. Most people don't know that Jobim did 4 albums with Sinatra & was one of his few friends. You will be in for the musical deep dive of your life unless you're already aware of Jobim.
