Don't Be A "Try Hard"

According to the "Urban Dictionary", being a "Try Hard" is "A person who puts a large amount of effort into achieving a certain image, or counter-image, to the point where it is obviously contrived. Rather than achieving an image through genuine personality, the try-hard consciously attempts to fit a certain style through deliberate imitation, forced style, or scripted behavior. That is to say, he/she is trying hard to create an image."

Whether this definition speaks mostly to people trying to fit in in a certain environment, this definition also applies to trying to make opportunities happen.

How many times have we tried to make opportunities happen in our lives, forcing something that was not yet ready to flourish? Most of the times, this leads us to frustration and angriness...

So... How do we avoid becoming a "Try Hard"? Is there such a thing? How can we make sure we will grab the opportunities that appear?
