They will continue to take everything for granted until they are left to fend for themselves.
Only then will they start learning how to respect again. Ignore it. Leave them to wallow in their misery until respect hits deity levels.

Woman - "Ahh me car is not working. Can you help me?" Me - "Yeah sure - this is your car? You own it and drive it and service it and maintain it? In the glove box is the owners manual. Get it. Read it. And follow the directions - just like everyone else has too. Bye".

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: Yea, thats why cars now tell you tire pressures and everything else, cars have been feminized and now the can stop working because of just a faulty sensor, that is $350 to replace. Years ago you could always get it going by screwing around with the carburetor

@SoloMan Zone: Ah! The good old days of Carburetors and points ignition systems and 3 speed transmissions! I miss my '74 Cadillac! I LOVED that car!

@bigintol03: I found that if you lubed the points cam and heel with graphite grease, the heel basically never wore and your points would last almost forever.

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: GOOD TO KNOW!!! I have an old tractor ('77 Power King) with an old Kohler K321 that still has points! I'm going to try that!!! Thanks for the advice Shane!

@bigintol03: Get the points very, very, clean...... AND you only need a faint wipe of the grease around the whole lobe / cam, and a spot under the cam heel and a little bit on front of it.... About 1/2 a dried split pea of graphite grease for the whole thing, will be plenty. Not many people carry it, but it's easy to make, just add some graphite powder to some THIN bearing grease, until it thickens up like a regular grease and there you have it. You only need about 4 green pease of grease to do a like 10 or 14 sets of points.

The main thing is to keep the DUST out of the points....
