I believe the Black Community are joined by the Praise of God (church), not the following of the commandments or lessons. When a Black Person is asked about God, they will immediately confirm faith, just to receive validation from the community. The lifestyle is the proof of my point. When women talk about equality, they are talking about Men's ability to provide equal to the women's want. Not need. Want. Women want to live independently, then Men must provide resources enough that she can do anything "independently". The Sacrifice by Men is expected, not understood.
