Bear with Bear Independent discusses the reality of hunting and fishing when SHTF. In this video, he explains why he believes that hunting and fishing is not a viable option in today's world for the long term. Bear recommends stocking up on dry food like corn, rice, wheat, and beans (750lbs per person/year = 3,277 calories/day), planting a small garden, and raising small livestock. In addition, he provides many other useful tips you'll want to know.

During the Great Depression deer, elk, wild turkey, etc. were driven almost to extinction in the USA due to over-hunting by those desperate to feed themselves. A consequence was all the hunting and fishing laws and regulations we have today to protect the herds, flocks, and fisheries so they could recover and rebuild their populations.

The US population during the Great Depression was ~127 million. The population today is almost triple that at ~330 million. There is no way, no how that hunting, fishing, trapping, and foraging will be a viable long-term survival strategy. In the event of a collapse nearly everything that walks on four legs in the wild will have been turned into food in about 9 months. It will start with larger game and - as that is hunted out - will progressively turn to smaller and smaller game until even squirrels, chipmunks, ground hogs, prairie dogs, raccoons, possums, rats, and mice become a rare sight.

Wild hogs are rampant in many states yes the limit exists but still hunting works. City folk can't make it work.
