Former US defense officials visit Taiwan in show of support

A delegation of former Washington defense officials have met with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen in a show of solidarity amid increasing tensions with China.

Chinese state media dismissed the visit of the officials – some of whom served under Clinton, Bush, and Obama respectively – posting on social media that the delegation’s presence was ‘an obvious provocation,’ and urging, ‘keep calm and don’t be fooled.’
