We haven't been under the organic U.S. Constitution since 1861. We've been under an illusion of it since 1874, when the Organic Act was finally implemented.
Unfortunately, even the illusion of the faux U.S. Constitution has been completely undermined and exists only as a stuffed animal on the fireplace mantle. Only the outer hide of that Constitution remains but, the insides are all gone. Even the hide of the Constitution is rotted and tattered and the fake stuffing is all too visible.
