The Dependapotamus or TRICAREatops are almost exclusive to the enlisted ranks. These hogs go to the E-club (enlisted men's club) and stalk their prey while the idiots junior enlisted men get drunk from the greatly discounted beer and liquor. The hogs strike near closing time and the beer goggles have done their job. The poor dimwit wakes up with that beast sleeping next to him and sometimes he even finds a ring on his finger!

Some officers are found with dependapotomuses in tow but, they are very often the ones who went into the enlisted to officer program and finally got their commission. That fat pig will be a drag on his career for sure.

The ones who went the officer route from the very beginning have access to social situations that help the young Ensigns or 2nd Lt's find suitable wives of quality. No officer can move up very far if he can't land a decent a Becky or Stacy. A quality wife reflects the worthiness of an officer to move up higher than his peers who either lack a quality wife or none at all. ........ Of course, that was way back when I was in the Cold War Navy. I'm sure things have degenerated considerably since then to meet Jewish standards.
