Homeless campers wreak havoc on coffee shop | Vancouver Sun

I went down there (I graduated high school in Vancouver and grew up there) for the first time in 10 years. I had been told how bad Hastings had gotten but it's one thing to be told another to actually see it for yourself. That part of Hastings where the tents are right now? There were thriving businesses in that area! But not anymore

@NerokeFive: I know a guy who was homeless in Vancouver about 15 year's ago and the stories he told me about that area were chilling. Especially the Balmoral hotel and pigeon park.

@Councilof1: I'm a pretty big guy that can look after himself and even I was keeping an eye over my shoulder when I was in Pigeon and that was 15 years ago.

To be fair there's no telling what these homeless guys will do. I had one guy where I live on Whyte Ave start stalking me when I told him to get lost, he kept doing it until I waved down the police. Keep in mind here the police where I live are still pretty responsive

@NerokeFive: Well you can accept that they are doing the lords work when they drive a big hunting knife in your guts, or you can send them home to be with jesus, because he told you he wanted you to send him to be with him.... Faith works both ways you know.
