How Ancient Greek Culture Cured My Nihilism
Today's topic is about the Ancient Greeks, and whether or not it was our peak of human civilization, as the eventual heirs to their culture, the Roman Empire, converted to Christianity and thus began a regression in the arts and the philosophical mind. Contemplating Ancient Greek art and it's meanings has cured my recent apathy for being human.

When you look at how the ancient Greeks has inspired western culture for 2 millennia - even the American Republic (1776-1865) very obviously felt a deep connection with Greek cultural perceptions regarding building stile, philosophy and art - it could be an expression of the deepest reaches of the european soul.. in the sense of culture gone to seed. Even today, we recognize and admire the clear physical beauty of Greek culture.. our admiration even extends to their writings - Illiad etc - so you may be correct that despite centuries of regression, we still have an instinctual connection with our ancestors from Hellenic times.

Defining Greek culture as a "celebration of the human form" is actually a very good point in terms of defining the core philosophical perception of humanity. Pre-christian culture truly did indeed have a positive outlook on life, while christianity focus on suffering.. kind of like snowflakes today attempt to "shield" everyone from pain / suffering / insults etc. Instead of just enjoying the positive sides of life, the current western belief-system is very much anti-natural.
