I have tried this technique and agree with it mostly but I need help in one area on how to apply this. My work is causing me stress because other people are not doing their work correctly. Their predecessors did a better job but their are a lot of workers being very lazy right now because people are not working and they have leverage, they are using that leverage to be lazy and do poor quality work. Imagine you had a job where in order for your job function to be done correctly, it relies on others to do their job correctly, otherwise you have to go back and fix things they did wrong before you can finish your part of the job. Standards have to be applied to an extent to guarantee a proper outcome. I have even expressed the concern to higher ups and increased what I charge to address this which they obliged, but it is still stressful to address all of the shortcomings of the other workers.

In a sense, I have an expectation of the prior workers to do their job correctly, this expectation is not being met, it wouldn't be a problem except it is directly affecting my work. What do I do in this case? I know the simple answer is to find another job, and I am trying that but it is a process, what do I do in the meantime?
