Huge fire breaks out in Tianjin high-rise building
A massive fire broke out at the high-rise Xintiandi office building in Tianjin on Tuesday afternoon. Flames raged on the top of the 27-story building with a column of thick black smoke rising. According to the media, 284 firefighting and rescue personnel as well as 62 fire trucks were dispatched to the scene. I am still pissed that the standard fit out of a concrete building, is plastic carpets, plastic furnishings, plastic this that and the other... and it all burns nicely.
So when it burns, there is nothing but TONS of thick, black, acrid, and TOXIC as fuck smoke and flames pouring out of it.
Why are these things not being fitted out with NON flammable - pretty much everything...
Borate treated woods, sea grass matting, glass fibre insulation, and sprinkler systems that actually work.
