Don't confuse Hypergamy with Flirtation.
Women love attention, some women are natural flirts. A waitress who is married to a successful owner of a restaurant isn't going to stop flirting. Waitresses who are personable will make good tips. Waitresses who flirt with their customers will get better tips and repeat customers.

The spirit of Hypergamy is "why should I settle?" The waitress isn't divorcing her husband everytime a cute customer walks thru the door. She is using feminine wyles to enchant customers for better tips and return visits.

Her husband may be insecure in his wife's flirtations with other men or may be he saw you "lick your lips" while you checked out his wife's fanny.

The Restaurteur is the best she can do, for now. If a more famous or rich chef stopped by, she might take a shot at Monkey Branching to a better position!
