The good thing about these repairs is you have a kind of luxury - it's GOOD and NICE to LEARN HOW TO DO THESE REPAIRS - Good for the soul.... AND it doesn't matter if it's not quite perfect.... It will be perfect enough.
I'd try to make it like new..... You will learn a lot and it's good fun.....

If all else fails , try reading the directions.. heh .. I would think scuff the gloss off with sandpaper.. make sure no point is out further than original.. then start laying it in the deepest parts first.. work your way up.. check for bondo tools at home depot or auto parts.. straight edge,, and rasp.. then build it up.. they have shavers that are like cheese grater.. it will take several applications imo.. especially when you start using the glazing.. no hurry and no worry..
