Why is Russia using WW1 tactics? Infantry is slow and wasteful. The first hits should've been done with dozens of Tu-95 bomber sorties. Then the infantry can come in for the mop up.
Wars are more than just carrying out foreign policy objectives. They are also to demonstrate power and capability to future adversaries. Russia is not showing resourcefulness or skill in managing this war. We're not seeing coordination of various weapons systems, coordination of command and control, and we're sure as hell not seeing trained manpower in action. The last being conscripts who are not politically educated in what they are fighting for (or against), poorly trained, poorly supplied, and lacking in morale.
