Living on a Self-Sufficient Sailboat for 10 Years + FULL TOUR
Brian and Karin Trautman have been living on a sailboat for 10 years, and their boat is set up so they can be off the grid in remote places for months at a time with solar and wind power providing electricity, a water maker that turns salt water into fresh water, multiple freezers and loads of storage space for food, and even a small washing machine on board!
They've sailed SV Delos – a 53' sloop rig ketch – 83,000 nautical miles which is the equivalent of circling the earth at the equator more than 3 times. Their latest adventures include sailing as a family with their 6-month baby, Sierra, and outfitting the boat with a heater so they can explore the Arctic this summer after several years in the Tropics.
If you want to follow SV Delos, and support their amazing vlog-style documentary project about the liveaboard lifestyle, we've included links to all their pages here:

This might be the solution I've been looking for. Other than the useless Australian woman and the equally useless baby that guy has everything he needs to survive a collapse.

I wish I was as organized as this man.

I would like to build a Self-Contained...Powered Air Ship.
One that I could land almost anywhere.
I practiced designing and constructing metal fastened substructures for the past three (3) years by customizing the interior of a car using solely metal and fasteners.
I did so while standing at the edge of the abyss that is death.
(I am still on that edge...but closer).
My health has forced me to contemplate abandoning the Powered Air Ship project, as it is very possible THE END IS NEAR (I'm not religious, but those signs still make me laugh).
I thought of building an expanding trailer, but the thought of dragging something behind a vehicle never appealed to me. Thus, I have opted to design (and if Nature and time allow, build) an expandable trailer that can be attached ontova long-bed pick-up (or larger 6-wheeler), that can also be detached (and positioned/settled using hydraulics), when on-site (to allow for use of the vehicle).
It is possible, however, that the one thing that remains is only the car I modded (a Magnum wagon).
That is what occurs when a man has to decipher and overwrite years of conditioning and errors committed during youth.
Such is life.
