@hndsoff: this is a language problem and I’ll defined what the teacher is actually looking for. But in plain English losest to means nearest. Yes you can interpret it to consider the flow of time moving forward. Equally with time considered in the real world if one were asked how how close am I to midnight another person would not reply you’re 3 minutes past so you have to wait another 24 hours to be close again. This is not the price is right. This is a grade school problem where the teacher thinks her students will clumsily choose 11:55 not considering the change from am to pm. Hence all answers end in am. Cut it however you want but the just as the future will exist and only operating from a narrow linear view of time and pretending as if the past no longer exists after the procession of time you could be a big brain idiot and believe that A is the right answer. But if we look at the context of the question and who it is directed towards and the most likely avenue for deception in the question then D and only D is the right answer.
