Polygamy does work, you are not looking at polygamy through the modern lens. Even a poor man can have a haram in our modern society. The key to its function is when wahmen become desperate enough to share a man. Each wahmen would work, maintain their own healthcare and maintain their own retirement plan. The Husband would provide nothing but leadership as the house head and , of course, sperm. The husband would receive money from each of the wahmen for the household fund. There would be a separate fund for each family descended through the wahman. The husband would be given total control over all decision and how all money is spent. Let's face it REALLY? A Man Is Dating Three Women...
A man is dating three women and wants to decide which to marry. He decides to give them a test. He gives each woman a present of $5000 and watches to see what she does with the money.
The first does a total make-over. She goes to a fancy beauty salon, gets her hair done, new make up and buys several new outfits and dresses up very nicely for the man. She tells him that she has done this to be more attractive for him because she loves him so much. The man was impressed.
