We support this website, those other websites don't necessarily need us except for maybe popularity. Which also means they have Deep Pockets and no transparency of who they are and whether or not it's real free speech or if they're just putting you on a list to take action on you sometime down the road. I'm sorry I'm just no longer as gullible as I used to be.

I checked out Telegram, I found out they require you to have your phone number in order to use the app. There's no way in hell man. Now I know they're just another big Tech platform parading themselves as free speech. Once they get your credentials through your phone number, you're fucked. I mean I'm sure you can get a fake phone number that you can use for a bit but at that point they already have your information recorded through the other app that you used to create that phone number with. If they really cared about privacy that wouldn't even be an issue. They would allow you to create an account without an email and without a phone number. Luckily with email you can always create some random ass email that you can throw away on any website that makes email my proton mail.

@KEEPER: Telegram has been around a long time but only started getting popular in US after big tech started banning conservatives. It started as a more secure and evrypted version of Whatsapp, so it uses the phone number model as that was popular at the time.

@redmaple: nothing against you personally mate, but that's just not very convincing, Discord when it first started they made all the same claims to be all about being free secure and encrypted and that they wouldn't ever censor you because they believed in free speech, and what did they do in the end? They ended up lying about everything.

You can obviously use it here all you want, but on these other platforms that's obviously something that gets banned.
