CCTV in Johannesburg, South Africa captured the horrifying moment a busy road exploded, seemingly out of nowhere. The blast, which killed at least one person and left dozens more injured, sent vehicles flying into the air, with one man leaping out of the path of a minibus as it came crashing down.

Officials have yet to pinpoint the cause of the explosion, and some local residents had reported smelling gas. Any possibility of a gas leak was ruled out by Egoli Gas, the company responsible for the pipes below the road, who confirmed that all their pipelines were intact.

The area surrounding the blast site has now been closed off as officials work to determine the cause, and the road itself is destroyed with a huge hole and piles of rubble in its place.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Freedom over censorship, truth over narrative.
Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RTnews
Follow us on Telegram: https://t.me/rtnews
Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/RT_com

Fairly common in a big city too. A colleague was having lunch in a Manhattan diner when a fireman ran in and ordered everyone back from the windows. Immediately after an explosion of methane in the sewer blew all the manhole covers for a few blocks 20 feet into the air and flames shot out. Fireman told him "it happens quite often".
