Have they learned their lessons from the sinking of the Moskva? Probably not. If they have a similar heavy cruiser, they should do a live fire test with a couple of dud cruise missiles to find out why the Moskva failed to destroy those Neptune missiles.
Same weather conditions, same defensive suite. Make sure some of the crew are rookies, some are drunk, and some daydreaming. Even though it's a test, it cannot be announced WHEN it will happen. Tell the captain that the test will happen sometime during the week with no warning. Then fire two dud cruise missiles.
IF the cruise missiles get through, the impact alone will certainly damage the outside but, better to get that kind of superficial damage than from a real missile! It will also highlight any shortcomings in training and maintenance.
