Last visited circa 2008(?) (for reasons other than gambling [I do not gamble]).
The Strip does not look different.
The Paris (hotel) was...interesting. I stayed at the top floor. HOWEVER, I recall having to leave my room for several hours upon arrival, as the staff had filled it with flowers and potpourri, to which I am allergic.
What I abhor about hotels is the ever-expanding check-in time—you are paying them a whole day to be allowed to check-in well into the afternoon.
Want to check-out sometime in the morning? Well, they will charge you for that entire day.
A scam, and not only in Nevada.

I haven't done NV in 25-30 years, before Luxor was ever built. Always preferred Laughlin over Vegas. More laid back and way smaller.
