As for this video I was talking to someone during one of my one on one coaching calls recently and he's in his mid twenties and feels the various risks of being in a relationship are no longer worth the rewards. Especially now that we have things like YouTube and video games to entertain us and provide a dopamine rush for us men. The conversation went in the direction that for most of human history relationships between men and women were not voluntary but were codependent where the women relied on men for emotional & physical survival while for men we relied on them mainly for sexual and reproductive survival. That increasingly we don't need each for survival physically because we have various technology to help us grow food more efficiently for our basic physical existence and we now have the dopamine smart phone devices in our pockets to provide an emotional or chemical crutch to alleviate boredom. Relationships take work and technology provides less satisfaction overall but it provides less work too. Let's say you only get 35% of the satisfaction from rubbing one out that you would doing the humpty dance. But the effort is only 5% of what it would be if you got ready and went out on a date. You do a cock benefit analysis
and just decide to stay home to pornhub and chill. It isn't perfect but it provides a better alternative to getting rejected or mootooed in bed by some land whale. You can be lazy and get some satisfaction or you can put in the effort with no guarantee of satisfaction. Your hand provides a happy ending every time. Just like a phone provides a way to alleviate the boredom of an existential crisis every-time too. Relationships are obsolete because we have hacked our own biology with technology because let's face most of us don't really want to be vulnerable and dependent on someone else for our survival or increasingly for our sexual satisfaction. Being with someone means you have to be prepared for a complete loss of control. Civilization is about making sure we have more security and control of our destinies. Even if we only feel like we a little bit of control when we are on our phones for most of us that outdoes the anxiety of not
knowing how our interactions with the opposite sex will turn out. People played cards and gambled not because it was always a vice but because it provided an alternative to going home and knocking up your wife.
