Redd Foxx introduces Rodney Dangerfield and the Gerald Wilson Orchestra, “People respect great musicians... and they respect great comedians, all except one. And we’re going to change that all tonight. We’ve combined the best musicians with the only man who gets no respect.”

Originally aired January 5th, 1978 on the Redd Foxx Show.

0:26 “Last week I looked up my family tree. Two dogs were using it.”
1:36 “I was so poor. My rich aunt died. In her will, I owed her $20.”
3:45 “Just last week a guy pulled a knife on me. I could see it wasn't a very professional job. There was butter on it.”

Rodney Dangerfield is a one of a kind guy. Still one of the best. I have his comedy albums on my spotify, sometimes if im feeling down I listen, he is always good for a laugh. I like his story, he was just a normal guy that rose up from a normal life and he was even older by the time he became famous you don't see that too often. Really shows you it is never too late to make a change in your life, and his contribution to comedy also made a positive impact for others still to this day. RIP. I really like his story.
