It’s an important piece to be covered. Perhaps it is a smokescreen during a time where other cataclysmic events are grieving as well, but these things address injustices that happen to men often and society sweeps it under the rug because SOCIETY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT MEN. Worldwide, they don’t. Furthermore, the western world takes the opinion of women as fact and it is especially powerful if the woman is attractive. It can’t be disputed that Amber Heard is attractive, but why does that immediately give her audience and her claims and accusations enough weight to destroy an actors career, when the actor had presented evidence to prove it false?
What we are seeing is that the calibration of judicial system , across all settings, is set to ‘ Man, bad. Woman, good.’ unless the man on trial can produce significant enough of a weight of evidence to win despite this overt bias.
And the punishments are never quite as harsh for a woman, much less an attractive one. Think about Jody Arias, and think about if she would be alive now if she was male and her victim female.
If sex was reversed, she’d be dead already and people would come over routinely to piss on her grave.
