Russian cosmonaut wants a word with the maker of bolts used on the ISS
Not many people have received threats from outer space, but the engineer responsible for bolts on the ISS received some stern words from a Russian cosmonaut who was unimpressed with the quality of his products.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Freedom over censorship, truth over narrative.
Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RTnews
Follow us on Telegram: t.me/rtnews
Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/RT_com

Now THAT would be interesting to find out the manufacturer of those bolts. Makes you wonder about other parts of the ISS.
That said, being in low Earth orbit still subjects the ISS to cosmic radiation and abrasion by grain-sized space junk. It seems that the ISS is on its last few years of operation. It would be an epic crime to let all of that just fall into the Pacific ocean. It should be pushed out of orbit and sent to orbit around the Moon in a mothballed condition.
How that could be done? I wouldn't trust NASA to come up with a solution. The E.U. space program and Russia should come up with a plan. Probably using multiple rockets to evenly push the station out of orbit. Once away from Earth's gravity, then it could be steered to intercept the Moon, slow down, and establish orbit. Having that out there would be immensely valuable as an insurance policy if we should ever go back to the Moon.
