Russian scientists caught in powerful volcanic eruption

The explosive sound heard 20km away, the 10km tall plumes of ash, the violent shaking of the Earth. The perfect time to gather a few samples and make a daring escape via snowmobile. <br> <br>The team of scientists were caught in the Bezymianny volcano eruption in Kamchatka on 7 April. Some managed to escape using snowmobiles, but others were forced to shelter under a sledge until the planet stopped trying to kill them.
