The German "flopped down" tank barrel, comes from some kind of hydraulic circuit breaker, that when keeping the barrel aligned to a specific target is over loaded by a big drop, rather than blow all the seals in it, it allows the over loaded barrel support circuit to dump the excess pressure...

I think the Rooshan Tanks are a lot lighter and with big motors and wide tracks they tend to do more going over the dirt and snow berms, than through them, as the German tanks do.
