Sleep Deprivation: The Cousin of Death

OK - yeah fast asleep - 10 pm - the cunt walks in - does a heap ot tests - walks out, leaves all the lights on..... Whinge, Whinge, Whinge. In the morning, they open my room door, and leave it wide open so everyone can see in and I can't take a piss in private and all the fucking noise comes in..... Whinge, Whinge, Whinge, Whinge, Whinge, Whinge.

AND that is another thing - there are many things that fall out of common use and are forgotten.... and the comment, "Were you born in a tent?" - said loudly to someone who has usually just walked out leaving the door wide open, because tents have flaps that close behind them, and places with doors, don't.... well no one knows what that means any more. Just like 8 track car sound systems, and hurricane lamps, and VCR's etc... In Australia, hurricane lamps are almost impossible to get, and the wicks for them, are almost 2 x as impossible to get..... Why LED lights are now relatively cheap, they make great light, use fuck all power and they don't stink up the place with kerosene..... Plus the design of them, is not that good in the first place. As an incandescant unit going night after night, they are all right, but for short camping trips etc., they leak fuel and need to be filled up frequently etc..

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: In America, we say, "WTF, were you born in a barn?" Meaning that somebody never learned how to flush the toilet, speak the King's English, or keep house. The time is coming when those kerosene lamps will be needed. As the global supply chains fall apart, those LED lights will work until they don't. THEN you'll have to take a big step down into the kind of primitive technology that a broken society can make for itself. That and steam engines. It take far far less input to make and fuel up a steam engine to do useful work. Less than a gasoline or diesel engine. Again, when the supply chains are gone and everything is localized, you'll have to relearn how to smelt iron and cast parts for a steam engine in order to get any work done.
