is he drunk????
fix = stop cutting meat with your thumb dumbfuck....
if you are smart you have a small cutting board or something, should be standard if you are going be out in the woods or wilderness etc. along with other proper kit.

It's like this - I live a long way out of any reigonal big towns. and when I go to them, I like to stock up on sandwich making materials for the day... fresh vegetables and fresh fruit are a real treat.... I like to get some kinds of sausages like salami etc., and slice them up with my knives.... I also do cucumbers, carrots, avocados, etc., etc., etc., to put on my sandwiches... What I found out - based upon my own experiences - is that survival type / utility blades with rope cutting serrated edges on them, are not easy fine slicing food knives. The serrated edge does not slice through food cleanly. AND because it does not slice cleanly, one needs to drive the inner edge of the blade a little bit harder through the food. This is not that great when the knife is almost through the food.... where as I fine slicing straight edge, I can pull that through the food until it reaches my thumb. You ought to try eating on the go and only carrying a knife - in fact get both types... AND it's a matter of control - I don't slice into my thumb, I bring my blade through the food and stop on the thumb. It's one of the ways people eat using only a knife and no bowls or cutting boards etc..

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: only the "new" survival knives suck because most of them are made out of stainless steel...

depending on the knife serrated edges can help with cutting all kinds of stuff, but correct they are not good for cutting processed meat because the sausages and stuff are not consistent texture like actual meat off of the carcass is.

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: that is why i have an older ish leatherman, it works as utility and it can be used on food if necessary... usually i have utensils specifically for food though, such as a boning knife filleting knife... well used to anywas.

Pointing out the obvious does not make you sound intelligent - and no - I will wear what I want, when it suits me.
