@Eggy_Noggy: I gave some thought to settling in Nuuk Greenland many years ago. It seemed cool until the pesky details of how to earn an income and fit in to the local community made it, and all such moves, grossly impratical. People don't realize how soft they really are and unprepared to live in the wilderness. Moving to a remote island seems cool until you get hungry and your food stash is all used up!

@InfiniteMushroom: I've been to Nuuk. It really isnt that bad. Sure, it gets cold AF there, but its ok. The media and even the internet makes nuuk look like a zone of nothing but indigenous natives, but when I was there, I saw a ton of Danish and Norwegian people. The only problem with Nuuk is moving there and purchasing the same things you purchased in America. getting food shipped there is expensive. When i was on the Faroe Islands, I actually had to help all the men bring in whales which were cut up and distributed among to locals to eat. Faroe Islands is great because the locals take care of eachother. Svalbard is bare, but i miss the feeling of open-carry with a rifle strapped to my back. You will be given a rifle when you get there because of the polar bear population so close to town.

@Eggy_Noggy: WOW! That is awesome that you've been to remote places that I've idly pondered about when I'd look at Google Earth. Sounds like Nuuk wouldn't be too bad for a single man who is accustomed to living modestly. As I understand it, Greenland has been given local rule and that probably means much fewer Danes and Norwegians.

@InfiniteMushroom: I've definantly seen a few things. Im not sure about there being less danes and norwegians there as Greenland is prety much owned by Denmark. There will ALWAYS be white people there. Also, its kinda like S.E Asia in that a lot of those indiginous women look like S.E asian woman and they absolutely fucking love white guys. There are some absolutely STUNNING women there. Import taxes are the worst aspect of greenland. I liked svalbard because the second you walked outside of the town, it felt like a brave new world. When you walk into a grocery store, there is a rifle locker that you have to put your gun in while you shop. Surreal.
